Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.
As far as writing goes, this week has been more about doing than writing. Between being a short week, plus extra kid activities and planning for a camping trip, my writing has not been overly prolific. Life is about the experience though and I love being immersed in it.
Gardening, hikes, visiting with relatives and friends, planning for adventure; these have all filled my hours this week. They kept me running, but are also fun and worthy of adding depth to a life. And depth makes for better writing at the end of the day, as I think Ben would attest to. So between talking about how extracurricular activities add life experience and the concept of success to a child’s life, slowing down to appreciate life in a newly awakened spring forest, getting in the dirt to plan for healthy nourishment for my family, and laughing over games and drinks with family, I am a busy, but happy lady. And any of those revelations could make for fodder for an article or two. We need to live to have something to write about.
How do you balance life and writing? What activities inspire writing for you?
